Farewell Chipper

One of the BEST players to play Pro Baseball in the last 40 years has officially retired and played his last game. Last Friday the Braves lost a one game wildcard game that sent them packing home. Was a sad day for myself and many other Braves fans. Chipper was the epitome of Pro Baseball. One of the very few men to play his whole career for the same team. One hell of a switch hitter which netted him MVP one year and batting title. Never once cried about being on the bench to let new players get some playing time. Never once took a steroid and always played the game honestly. Sure it would of been nice to see him get a few more rings but for whatever reason that wasn't in the cards. Although they went to the world series 5 times they only came away with one ring. What matters most is the impression he left with his teammates and fans. All year long Chipper was treated with grace at every stadium the Braves played at. Each team giving Chipper a piece of them as a farewell gift. I was very lucky to be able to see him play on more than one occasion, just wish I had been lucky enough to get his autograph. Chipper Jones the game of Baseball and your fans will truly miss you and the game you brought nightly. Chipper Jones you are NOT done yet, we will see you very soon in the HALL OF FAME.
